Undergraduate Programs - MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery)


The Under Graduate Degree course Duration :  4.5 Years + 1 Year (Internship)

Intake : 250 Seats

The MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) program is being offered at S Nijalingappa Medical College, Bagalkote. It is an undergraduate degree program in the field of Medicine and healthcare. The duration of the MBBS program is five and a half years, which includes four and a half years of classroom teaching and practical training, followed by a one-year internship.

The program is recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC), New Delhi

and Affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS). Bengaluru

Eligibility :

  • Candidate should have passed 12th standard, should have obtained 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (taken together) and should have passed English as one of the subjects.
  • He/She has obtained a minimum of marks in National Eligibility – cum – Entrance Test as prescribed in Clause 5 of Chapter II.
  • The candidates should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission

Admission Procedure

All the seats, including NRI/Management quota, are allotted by merit through online counselling conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee, Directorate General of Health Services, New Delhi and Karnataka Examination Authority, Bangalore. Selection is based on the rank obtained in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) .

Eligibility :

  • The candidates should have passed the MBBS degree examination from a recognized Medical College affiliated to any university recognized by the NMC.
  • The Candidates should have completed one year of Compulsory Rotating Internship in a teaching institution recognized by the NMC.
  • The Candidates should have registered their MBBS degree with the respective State Medical Council.
  • Selection of candidates for postgraduate degree courses shall be on merit basis of PG NEET examination
