Department of Pathology
Overview
Pathology is not a problem to be solved, but the soul's way of working on itself.
Department of pathology was established in the year 2003 by Dr. Sajjan as head of the department. Post-graduate courses were started in our department in the year 2009 & today we have 12 MD candidates. The department caters to the academic, diagnostic and research activities. Well trained and experienced staff are invovled in teaching undergraduates (medical, dental, allied health sciences and physoitherapy students ) and postgraduate students. Department has mainly 5 sections involved in the diagnosis – histopathology, hematology, clinical pathology, cytology and autopsy. Research activities are actively being conducted by the postgraduates and by the staff .We were proud to host CME in Dermatopathology in the year 2016 in collaboration with Bijapur Pathologists Association and Bagalkot Pathologists Association. We had the honour and privilege to host 46th KPCON in 2019 with 8 workshops, one CME and 2 days conference.
Vision
Develop into Hi-tech Laboratory to cater to the services to the people in and around Bagalkot.
Mission
Train undergraduates and postgraduates to be self-reliant, confident and ethical based practitioners.
Precise reports within the turnaround time.
