Department of dermatology started since the inception of college in 2002. It got permission to start post-graduate course in 2012 with intake of two candidates per year. In 2019, the number of post-graduate seats is increased to three. It harbors many facilities including lasers, dermatosurgery equipment, vitiligo surgery and nail surgery. Phototherapy, both UVA and NBUVB has been a boon for the vitiligo patients in this region. FotoFinder videodermoscopy, the best technology from Germany in terms of dermoscopic image analysis, is being employed in the diagnosis on daily basis. Five research projects are being conducted using FotoFinder videodermoscopy. The daily constitutes common dermatological conditions of skin, hair and nail, and uncommon and rare disorders aw well.
With more than 90 research publications in the field of dermoscopy, the department aims to become one of best department in the training of dermoscopy across Karnataka.
