Biochemistry and Medicine are intimately related to each other. Health depends on a harmonious balance of biochemical reactions occurring in the body and disease reflects the abnormalities in biomolecules, biochemical reactions or processes. Sound knowledge of Biochemistry is essential for practice of Medicine. Laboratory tests are an integral part of diagnosis and monitoring of treatment.
